I own Adventures in Babysitting on both VHS and DVD! It truly is one of the best movies of all time.

Wow – I haven’t thought about Adventures in Babysitting in *years*! I used to watch it all the time! I’d have to add Raiders of the Lost Ark, Ghostbusters, and Goonies to your list, too. I love, love, love 80’s movies!
Even though I have seen it many times, I still get pumped when Daniel defeats Johnny during the climax of “The Karate Kid”.
#5 on your list taught me some very valuable lessons. The most important one is “Don’t f*** with the babysitter”.
If you don’t already have it, I highly recommend a book that covers the teen movies of the 1980s called “Pretty In Pink”.
I love Sixteen Candles! Love the soundtrack and that cute guy.

Nearly perfect list! I’d add “The Sure Thing” and “Ghostbusters” for sure, but I must have watched “Adventures IN Babysitting” 8 billion times!

Oh gawd, I liked Adventures in Babysitting the first 2 times i saw it. By the time my sisters forced me to watch it the next 50 times….i got over it.
Don’t forget “Say Anything”! When Lloyd stands out with his boom box blasting “In Your Eyes”….

Great list, some of my faves are on there too. I’d probably add Weird Science and One Crazy Summer. And I won’t even go into the horror genre, I watched ALOT of scary movies in the 80’s.
I’m a day late in commenting. My favorites from that decade include Goonies and A View to a Kill.
