Tuesday Tip of the Day

November 11, 2008

The cost of groceries right now is no secret to any of us. To try to make my dollar stretch, I pick at least 2 meals a week that make enough for us to get 2 meals (4 total). It saves me time in that I only need to cook twice and that’s 2 less meals I need to buy groceries for.

Do you have a tip you want to share? If so, let me know.

Happy Tuesday!!!!

My tip: Go to the Dollar store or 99 cents store before you go to the regular grocery store. You can find name brand items (bertolli pasta sauce, kraft mac and cheese, Capt Crunch cereal, Oatmeal ect…) that have experation dates that are in a month or two so they send them to the dollar stores to get rid of! As long as you use them soon, it can save serious $$$

Wonderful tip! I live by a list. If I don’t make up a list before going shopping, my budget seems to go right out the window.

Not only does doubling a meal save time, but it saves energy, too – gas or electric – however the meal is prepared! Good for you!

Great tip! I’m a coupon clipper and sale shopper.

I do that too. We don’t eat a lot of food anyways
