That’s Not My Reindeer – A Review & Giveaway

November 15, 2008

Kristie @ Children’s Activities with Usborne Books sent my girls a copy of the book, “That’s Not My Reindeer”.

This is a book of bright colors and textures that are aimed at developing sensory and language awareness.

We received this book yesterday. My 3.5 year old took it right away and read it. She liked to feel the different textures on the pages. Both of my girls are really into books right now and had me read this to them a few times last night.

What is really amazing is that R, my 3.5 year old, can now “read” the book back to us. Something about the textures must make her remember just how the book goes. T, my 2 year old really likes the book too, but it’s a fav of R’s right now.

Would you like your own copy of “That’s Not My Reindeer” to get your kids in the holiday spirit or to save for Christmas? You are in luck because Kristie provided me with a copy to send a lucky reader.

Here are the rules for entering:

1. In the comments, tell me what your favorite holiday story/song/movie is.

2. The contest will run until Wednesday, November 19th at 11:59 pm Central time. The winner will be selected through random drawing, contacted by e-mail, listed on this post and also submitted to PRIZEY.Fetch. US entries only, please.

3. Please leave a valid e-mail address or other way to contact you! If you don’t wish to leave your e-mail address, please make sure that you leave a unique name and check back with PRIZEYWinners to see if you won. If the winner hasn’t responded within 3 days, an alternate winner will be chosen by random drawing.

4. If you’d like a couple extra entries you can either:

  • Subscribe to my RSS feed or subscribe via e-mail – leave me a separate comment to let me know.
  • Mention this contest on your blog with a link back to this post, and leave a separate comment with the link to your post so I can find it.

This giveaway is now closed. The winner has been contacted.

hi Laura! Abby loves to “read” books back to us too. Her teacher said that’s the first step in learning to read.

A Christmas Story was the first movie I ever saw in the theater so it has a special place in my heart!

Sweetpea would love this book, she is a big fan of any book with bright colors and textures. Our favorite holiday movie is the year without a Santa Claus – so fun and great music!

There’s Rudolph and Frosty that I like along with Jingle Bells, even though it takes me awhile to figure out the missing words.. LOL

My favorite kids’ show is “The Year Without a Santa Claus.” (I love the heat mizer and cold mizer songs!) My favorite adult Christmas show is “White Christmas” with Bing Crosby. I’d love to win this book for my twins!

My favorite is the original animated Grinch movie. I could watch it every day and never get sick of it. In fact, just thinking about it has the “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch” song playing in my brain. :)

Our Christmas tradition is the Charlie Brown Christmas show. Not only do I know it by heart, and have been caught saying dialogue along with the characters, but now both sons know it as well. Now we have our new baby grandson to bring into the tradition! Would love to share “That’s Not My Reindeer” with him this holiday season! Thanks for sharing ;~)
