When my husband comes home and after dinner. He takes the kids and lets me shut the door to our room so I can read for a little while. It’s so nice to do something I want to do once in a while!

I actually lock myself in the bathroom and stand at the sink reading. I know, it’s not really a time out but the fan blocks out a lot of noise and sometimes it is the best I can do.

Other times like after the kids go to bed I blog, go through old pictures, read or play Webkinz for a few hours.

It’s funny to think that a mom would need a time out, but I have taken plenty. During a morning of unstoppable whining and crying I had to take a time out in the bathroom to just compose myself! I also like to crochet or blog when I need a break from the kids!

If I really, really need a timeout, I call a friend and we meet for coffee. Otherwise, for just minor “timeout” needs, I usually work out or do a scrapbook page.

My time-outs consist of sitting outside with a cup of coffee while the hubby is in charge for awhile. If I’m by myself, I’ll shut myself in the bathroom for a minute or two.
