For more Wordless Wednesday, head on over to 5 Minutes for Mom.
I will be honest, I don’t talk to many people from high school. The funny thing is that I don’t really know why. I liked high school. I had a lot of friends in high school and I will honest, some days I would go back to high school in a heart beat.
I have had a Facebook page for awhile now. It was fun adding all these people that I knew as friends – especially the ones that I know from high school but haven’t seen or talked to in awhile.
Over the past month or so, I have started using Facebook more. My friends use it to talk to each other and share pictures. My family likes to see pictures of what we are up to with the girls. I have even started keeping in touch a bit more with friends from high school.
Like I stated in yesterday’s post, today is my birthday. And back in high school, there were probably 20 or more of us that had birthdays in the first 2 weeks of October. We even had a big party one year for all October birthdays. We always had the best time.
Being on Facebook the last couple of weeks have brought me back to that time. I see everyone’s birthdays coming up and I start to think about all the fun we had in high school. Here are some of my favs:
“Right back at ya girlfriend! I hope you have a good day too! I have so many great b-day memories with you! So glad we get to celebrate back-to-back! Happy Birthday Laura!
”
“Happy Birthday! I remember getting your mom’s birthday cookies. Hopefully you have as good as skills with baking cookies as your mom did. I hope your day is going well for you. Take care.”
“Happy birthday Laura! Hope you are enjoying a fabulous day as fun as all the birthdays we all used to celebrate together!”
I love these comments. Each and every birthday wish has made me smile today. I love how the Internet can help to bring back such great memories. It has also made me realize how important friends are and I have made a promise to make more time for them.
In conclusion, I guess what I am trying to say is this: Thank you, Facebook for reminding me how lucky I am to have such great friends and for helping to make this birthday just a little bit more special.
Tomorrow is my birthday. I am telling people it will be the last one I celebrate. I will be 34. I have always dreaded getting older. I thought it was just me, but I think that I have figured out what I really dread – as I get older, so do those around me – my mom (I really hate this), my dad, my aunts, etc. I can’t bear to think that one day they will be gone.
Anyway, as I think about tomorrow, I have sort of come up with a list of things I would like to do before my next birthday. Here they are:
1. Get healthy (lose weight, eat better, exercise more, etc)
2. Spend more time with my kids.
3. Spend more time with my husband.
4. Spend more time with my friends.
5. Post here daily.
6. Attend one blogging conference.
7. Read more.
8. Find a hobby I enjoy and will stick with.
9. Get more organized.
10. Save money.
I know that some of these are broad, but I know what I need to do.
I want to thank all my family, friends, and co-workers. I know that I am truly blessed with all I have.

It’s probably not a secret that I am a big fan of meal planning. It makes grocery shopping easier, saves money because you don’t go out as much, and it just makes life simpler. I also love to try new (and easy) things. I like meals that don’t take a lot of time or preparation. I search each week for new things that are yummy and simple. Here’s our meal plan for this week:
Monday – Chicken Parmesean, salad, breadsticks
Tuesday – Dinner at Mom’s (because it’s my birthday)
Wednesday – Dinner at the Children’s Museum (we won tickets to a private showing of their special display)
Thursday – Beef enchiladas
Friday – We usually get takeout or something, but I am not sure since we are having people over.
Saturday – Ham (not sure what else with it)
Sunday – Pizza night! I get a premade crust or pizza dough from our local grocery store and we have homemade pizza.
What are you having for dinner this week?
