Adventures With Pocket Edward

A couple of years ago I found a blog (that no longer exist) that had a “Pocket Edward”. It was hilarious!!! I showed a friend at work and she went out and bought us each one.

I recently got him back out and thought I would share his adventures. If you follow me on Instagram, you probably have already seen these.

Here is Pocket Edward hanging with me at work.

Here he is sharing my Diet Coke.

Pocket Edward trying yoga.

Sometimes he tries to avoid my camera.

Pocket Edward loves McDonald’s French fries.

Sometimes he helps my husband with his geocaching puzzles.

Make sure to stay tuned for more Pocket Edward adventures.

Working Mom of the Week: Nina Restieri

This post was originally published on 7/30/09.

Name: Nina Restieri

Occupation: President of momAgenda

Describe Your Occupation:  I am the founder and President of momAgenda, a company that creates day planners and other organizational products for moms.

Tell us about yourself: I am a mom of 4 kids, ages 13, 11, 9, and 6. I have been married for 14 years and live in Connecticut.

Tell us what a typical day is like for you:  Most days go something like this. I wake up and get my kids ready for school (or in the summer, camp). I drop them off then head to the office. I spend my day working on creative endeavors at momagenda, such as new products or new colors. I also run all of our various social media programs. I work until it is time to pick up my kids, then we all head home and start preparing dinner. After dinner, its bath time and bed time so we are well rested and ready to do it again the next day.

What are some of your challenges?  It is challenging to find time for myself. Sometimes I wake up early to exercise, and this time alone is so valuable for me. Although I do not like waking up early, this is the only time I won’t be interrupted!

How do find balance in your life?  I set clear boundaries in terms of work time and mom time. When my kids are at school, that is my work time and I use it very efficiently. That way when I get home, I can really focus on being a mom.

What do you do to take time for yourself?  Like I said earlier, I like to exercise regularly. Other than that, if I am not in the office, I am usually with my kids, my husband or both!

Do you have any advice for other working moms?  I think it is really important to ditch the idea of perfection. Non of us are perfect moms or perfect business women. Just do your best, then let it go.

Do you have a favorite tool or resource that you use to help stay organized?  Well, it may sound self-promotional, but I really am completely dependent on my momAgenda day planner. I spend at least 30 minutes every Sunday night planning my week, and that really helps ensure that everything runs smoothly.

Where Can We Find You Online?  Check out my website, www.momagenda.com, and follow me on twitter @momAgenda. We are also on Facebook: www.facebook.com/momAgenda
