I love these two monkeys more than anything. They are my world. Almost everything I do is for them.
There are times, ok, a lot of times, that I don’t feel like the best mom in the world. At work, we like to joke call our mommy mess ups our “mother of the year” moments. Sometimes I forget things or yell when I shouldn’t. I wonder if putting my youngest in kindergarten this year will scar her for life. I ache when I think of the pain I caused them, especially my oldest, when I decided to split from my husband in the fall.
I think we all have feelings of inadequacy when it comes to our kids at least once in awhile.
But then, my youngest comes to me with her big brown eyes and hugs me. She says, “I love you, Mama”. My oldest will hug me and tell me that I am the best mom ever. We laugh and joke around until our sides hurt.
That’s when I am reminded that I AM enough.
What reminds you that you are enough?

Thanks so much for linking up with Just.Be.Enough.
I think it’s amazing how children have the ability to shift your perspective just by being themselves. They somehow make you remember all of the important things in life and make the others fade a little in importance
It’s amazing how much our children enrich our lives. Motherhood is an eternal quest to be enough, I think. I’m glad your children remind you that you are.

A child’s hug and their sweet words: “I love you, mommy!”
I think there is no better way to be reminded that we are enough.
Thank you for sharing.

And so you are. Both of my girls went to kinder early as they have October and November birthdays. The first has excelled and the second can’t test to save her life, so she struggles accademicly but they are both happy, so I don’t regret it at all.

Children are the best. I never knew so much love could come from such a tiny body!
