Just Write: I love winter

Winter in WisconsinWe took the girls sledding tonight at a local park.  As we stood at the bottom of the hill, I was reminded of why I love living in Wisconsin.

It was in the 30′s – I don’t know exactly the temperature – but it wasn’t bitterly cold.  It was the kind of night that I love.  The air was cool.  The park had kids laughing and screaming as they slid down the hill on their sleds.  There were families on the skating rink and kids over on the small hockey rink.  The snow felt crunchy under my feet and my cheeks were a rosy red from the cool night air.  I almost felt like breaking out in song to express my love for winter in Wisconsin.

I can’t imagine living anywhere else.  Easy to say for someone that has never really lived anywhere else, but it’s true.  I love the four very different seasons.  I love the fact that the are I live in is safe enough that parents trusted their kids to head to the park to skate or sled.

I almost didn’t go with them sledding.  I was so glad that I did.  I even went down the hill myself a few times.

  2. I spent a week in Wisconsin one winter and it was BEAUTIFUL. Now, I am from Florida so anything under 70* is miserable for me, but it was so nice up there. I got to go on a snow mobile and there was some park where you could go and park your car and feed deer right from the window… it was incredible.
